Ekopod is situated about 7 miles west of Launceston, in the parish of St Clether, opposite the church.
It is a very rural area.
There is a large car park providing on site parking this is away from the pods as we operate a car free site. This is directly off of the road and has a sign in either direction saying ‘glamping site.’ There is a walk from the car park to the units varying from 30 seconds to 2 minutes – if you need help with your luggage please let us know in advance.
There is a small step up to all the decking that our units are on. The bathrooms and kitchen are a small step up from the level of the pods themselves, there are no stairs in the pods – just a ladder to the cabin bed in Kemper Safari tent. The width of the access into the pod varies depending on the unit. Please ask for details of your specific unit if this is important to your stay. Please take care on the decking in wet conditions as they can get slippery.
There are fire alarms and carbon monoxide testers in all our units and fire blankets in all the kitchenettes. The route to the assembly point incase of a fire is shown in the information packs inside your pod. There are fire extinguishers and first aid boxes in your pod and information on local pharmacies, doctors, dentists, hospitals and emergency vets.
There are clear paths around Ekopod that are marked with solar lanterns. Please keeps to the paths while navigating the site and be aware that they are uneven in places and may be slippery when wet. Please take care.
Due to the remoteness of Ekopod own transport is essential, however, due to the terrain of the site wheelchair access is regrettably not viable.
There is no Wi-Fi on site and no electricity in the pods to charge phones. However, you can charge them in the main Barn which does have electrical sockets. Signal around the site can be patchy – depending on your network. If it is patchy walk to the top field where there is good signal.
Dogs are welcome on the site and we allow up to two in each unit at a cost of £25 please keep your dog on a lead as our other guests may not be dog friendly! There are also sheep in the fields surround Ekopod so please keep you dog on a lead on any walks that pass through the farmer’s fields.
