Question;‍ what’s the best pod for a 1 year old?

One of our followers asked this yesterday which made me think they’re probably not the only one wondering this!  We have a page on family glamping here but if specifically for you looking to bring young children, here’s a post of things to consider.

Glamping with Kids

1)  Pod type -we welcome children in Geodomes Nessa, Eyl, Peswara, Kensa and Safari tents Kemper and Ebron. So would you prefer  the Geodome or Safari tent experience?

We find kids love the huge windows and hammock swings of the geodomes and the bed boxes and the views of the deer from the treehouse like balconies of the Safari tents.

2) Bath or shower?

Three of our geodomes Eyl, Nessa and Peswara Geodome have baths.

Eyl and Nessa also have over bath showers,  Peswara also has an outside shower (cold)

Kemper and Ebron Safari tents have showers and Kensa has a shower in its private bathroom in the main barn.

3) Size of pod?

Peswara and Kensa are our smallest pods. You will have less floor space, but at cooler times of the year they heat up quickest once you light the fire.

Kemper and Ebron Safari tent are our largest units, they have the largest amount of floor space, largest dining table and largest sofa area

4) Layout

Ebron and Kemper have everything (bedrooms, kitchen, dining area and bathroom) under one roof which can make it easier when glamping with kids.

The ensuite Geodomes Eyl, Nessa and Peswara have kitchens and bathrooms in a separate pod, just next door on their decked area.

Peswara’s dining table is in it’s kitchen pod next to the geodome.  Eyl and Nessa Gedome have their dining area in the geodome

Kensa our non-ensuite pod has its kitchen and bathroom in the main barn. It is  a minute walk down the hill but it’s the only kitchen and bathroom with electricity – so your kettle will boil quicker and is the only unit with a full oven (vs gas rings).

5) Electricity

While the pods don’t have electricity there is a cool box in your pod’s kitchen and a fridge and freezer you can use in the main barn area.  Kensa Geodome’s kitchen area is in the barn so it has electricity.

6) Travel Cots and High Chairs

We can provide complimentary travel cots and high chair (subject to availability) on request.

So in summary all the units provide a slightly different experience for glamping with kids.   Hopefully, the above information  this will help you chose the pod that is perfect for you and your family!  Whatever unit you chose, it will be set in its own private space with pretty views of Cornish countryside and the milky way on clear nights, where we hope you can create magical memories that will last a  life time.
