10. Embrace the Elements (coast & moor right on your doorstep)
Sometimes the best way to enjoy Cornwall in the rain is to get outside anyway. Kids especially will often still enjoy rock pooling in the rain, and the beach will be less busy if you’ve got dogs! Alternatively pull on your waterproofs and head for a wild walk along the beach or Bodmin Moor. Just be safe, make sure it’s not too wild when you do this!

Rainy days are perfect for watersports too! Surfing, a swim in the sea pool, and coasteering are just as fun when it’s wet — you’ll be in the water anyway.

After a bracing coastal walk, The Port William in Port Isaac is ideal for storm-watching with food and drinks, while The Rising Sun Inn in Altarnun is perfect for warming up by the fire after a walk across the moor.

Rainy Days Can Be Blissful Too
Sometimes the best thing to do is… nothing at all. At Ekopod, rainy days are the perfect excuse to cosy up in your pod: light the wood burner, listen to the rain on the canvas, read a book, play board games, watch the storm from inside with a hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows, or run yourself a bath and watch the storm with a glass of red wine in hand.
Rainy days in North Cornwall don’t have to be gloomy — they can be relaxing, adventurous, indulgent, and completely magical. Enjoy!
