Feeling festive during your winter break in Cornwall?

Here’s some suggestions to really get you in the Christmas spirit:

The wonderful Padstow Christmas Festival is perfect for the foodies amongst you!  Food stalls full of local produce and demonstrations by award wining chefs!  Not here during the festival itself? Well it’s much easier to get seats at the restaurants run by Michelin starred chefs surrounding us such as Paul Ainsworth and Nathan Outlaw.  Many of the other harbor towns in Corwall have lovely displays of Christmas lights over the festive period but the Mousehole Christmas lights rank amongst the most picturesque in the country.  They’re up from 14th December – 4th January. Wanting to meet Santa? How about Santa by steam on the Bodmin railway from 30th November. Finally for a traditional feeling Christmas activity the stunning Landhydrock House will be decked out in the splendor of a fancy dress ball from 1893.

Attraction open during your winter break in Cornwall

You’ll be pleased to know that many of the top attractions in the area will be open during your winter break in Cornwall and you benefit by getting to visit them without the normal crowds.  They’re also often running seasonal activities.  Our top attractions to visit this winter include The Eden project.  This is always a favourite on a rainy day but during the winter it opens up an ice rink .  The rink is open from 12 October -23rd February, however, it’s not open every day in that period so check the timetable before you visit.

Healey’s cyder farm is also open all year round excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day.  As well as the tours of the cider making process for the adults, children will enjoy meeting the farm animals.    Another favourite the, Tate St Ives is also open throughout the winter, it holds its winter festival on November 30th.

On top of that you get to enjoy quiet, dog friendly beaches, bracing moor walks across Bodmin, warm pubs with crackling fires and on stormy days some pretty impressive seas!  We look forward to having you stay and hope you have a lovely time on your Winter Break in Cornwall.  If you haven’t booked we still have some limited availability click here to find out more.
