Embrace Nature Together
Autumn in Cornwall brings beautiful views, with vibrant foliage and moody skies that create a perfect backdrop for romance. The longer evenings mean earlier sunsets and longer nights for star gazing. You can read about our top sunset spots here. For day time nature based adventures we recommend:
- The stunning landscapes of Lanhydrock, where the gardens and woodlands glow in rich shades of red, orange, and gold, making it an ideal spot for a romantic stroll. Lanhydrock | Cornwall | National Trust (35 mins)
- For a more rugged landscape, head to Bodmin Moor for scenic walks. 20 minutes from us is Roughtor which is a gorgeous walk and the home of the enchanting starling murmurations from November. Roughtor | Forestry England (20 mins)
- Looking for more of a challenge? Try a wild swim in Bude’s sea pool. Open all year round, the temperature is starting to dip. Really getting those endorphins going! Bude Sea Pool (30 mins). Alternatively you could take surfing lessons together. Many of the surf schools are open until the end of October.
- Finally you can visit the famous Eden Project. It’s domes are open all year round but from 19th October you can add a romantic element to it by include a skate on it’s seasonal ice rink. The Eden Project (50 mins)
Enjoy Unique Halloween Experiences
Love to get scared? For couples who enjoy a thrill you could book a stay over Halloween. Cornwall is surrounded by myths and legends that come to life over this period. Bodmin Jail which is half an hour from us has a host of special events on including The “Beyond the Veil: The Halloween Experience” where you can sip sinister cocktails before embarking on a ghost walk through the eerie corridors of Bodmin Jail, Wrap up your evening with a séance. They are also running special Halloween tours throughout October.

Also don’t miss the Dark Gathering in nearby Tintagel (25 mins). This a festival featuring captivating performances and folklore that marks the transition from summer to winter.
The famous museum of Witchcraft is also just down the road in Boscastle (20 mins) and Halloween is the perfect time to visit! Please be aware it closes for the season at the end of October.

Indulge in Cornish Cuisine
Cornwall is a culinary paradise, and our guidebook is full of special places to enjoy a delicious meals after your excursions. Home to famous chefs such as Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth in Padstow (50 mins) and Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac (35 mins). You don’t need to go big name though there are so many lovely little spots to enjoy. After walking on Bodmin Moor you could visit the The Rising Sun at Altarnun (10 mins) a traditional moorland pub with local beers and a fine dining menu.
